From approximately 1994 to 1999, E and J recorded regularly under the project name, Milktoast. In a dimly lit smoke filled basement, removed from all worldly distractions above, the duo (in the most free spirited of approaches) developed an honest, gritty and unique sound. With a collage-type feel, every track seems closely tied to the overall mood and larger body as a whole, creating a sonic world filled with pop culture references, outsider sensibilities and innocent, playful exploration at the forefront.
